PARATHEATRE FOR WORKING ACTORS:
a free talk & discussion on zoom
Saturday October 14th at 10AM Pacific / 1 PM Eastern
"This work is a kind of archeology of the soul: a visceral form of Jung's "active imagination". The physical body is posited as the embodiment of the subconscious mind, and paratheatre methods are applied in a process of making the unconscious conscious." - Antero All
In this free talk, you will learn about Grotowski's exploration of paratheatre as a means of revitalizing the ritual power of theatre. You will also learn about several subsequent explorations of paratheatre, undertaken by theatre practitioners around the world. Finally, you will hear my experience applying these tools as an actor in mainstream theatre and film for the last ten years. There will be room for questions and discussion along the way.
THIS TALK IS GREAT FOR PEOPLE WHO MAY WANT TO TRY PARATHETRICAL TRAINNG.
THE NEXT PARATHEATRE LAB WILL RUN OCTOBER 23rd – NOVEMBER 13th IN NYC.
